Richard B. Cheney an eminent public servant and entrepreneur is vice-president of the United States. Cheney is a recognizable figure in Washington for many years. George W. Bush was the president of the 4th generation to which he was a part of. Bush selected Cheney to be his vice-presidential running mate in July 2000 citing Cheney's insight judgment and experience. Dick Cheney was a chief of staff to presidents. He also worked for the United States Congress as Secretary of Defense, and served his country in many positions. Both Republicans and Democrats respect him for his honesty and integrity. Cheney has said that the position he will play in the Obama administration as of an honest but professional advisor to Bush. Cheney is adamant in accepting his nomination as the Republican vice president he wants to be a president candidate who is willing to be a cross-partisan collaborator and work with their political adversaries with kindness and with an unifying cause. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on January 30, 1941, at Lincoln Nebraska. At the age of 13, Richard Bruce and his family moved in Casper (in Wyoming, the State of Wyoming) where his father was director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's land conservation districts.
